Some APO & FPO addresses curtailed Print E-mail

The Military Times reported on 19 October 2009 that close to 5,000 military retirees and their survivors living overseas will no longer be able to use APO and FPO addresses at US embassies and consulates after December 2009. Retirees with APO or FPO addresses at military installations, and Defense Department personnel officially assigned to embassies and consulates will not be affected.

CONGRATULATIONS!  YOU HAVE MADE THE COLLEGE WAITLIST!

The good news is that you have not received a rejection letter from your college of choice.  The bad news is that you have not yet been offered admission.   The college has determined that your application is strong enough not to be rejected. However, it was not powerful enough to surpass other stronger candidates.  This places you in limbo at a time when you expected the wait to be over. While many of your classmates are excited about their acceptance letters, your college plans are undetermined. Although you are undoubtedly disappointed and even angry about the news, those emotions will not increase your chances of being offered admission.  Instead, if you are waitlisted at your top choice school, you should pull yourself together and develop a strategy to maximize your chances of acceptance.
