The Americans Abroad Caucus counts 29 members at present, representing many states and all regions of the nation, from the West Coast, the Middle West, the South and the East Coast. Twenty-two Democrats and five Republicans are members. ACA looks forward to working with these Representatives in Congress to advance the cause of Americans residing and working overseas.
Carolyn B. Maloney (D-NY), Co-Chair http://maloney.house.gov Congresswoman Maloney has represented the 14th Congressional District of New York, the East side Manhattan and Queens, since 1993. She is Chair of the Joint Economic Committee, a House and Senate panel that examines the nation’s most pressing economic issues. Rep. Maloney also chairs the Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit Subcommittee of the House Financial Service Committee, and is member of the Domestic and International Monetary Policy, Trade and Technology Subcommittee. She is a senior member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and on its subcommittees on Government Management, Organization and Procurement; Information Policy, Census and National Archives; and National Security and Foreign Affairs. She is also a national leader on homeland security and a recognized advocate for women’s and family issues. Congresswoman Maloney has been a long-time supporter of overseas Americans and is the co-founder of the Americans Abroad Caucus. She introduced the Overseas Voting Practical Amendments Act of 2007 (H.R.4237) to significantly enhance the enfranchisement of overseas American voters, and will again introduce the measure in the 111th Congress.
